Why are essential oils so special?
Our plant kingdom is vast & beautiful and for thousands of years has been the place where humans seek healing & support. Essential oils can be used in a variety of ways for physical, emotional, mental & soul wellness. Like music, oils have different 'notes' e.g. citrus oils are top notes offering uplift & zest. Woody oils, e.g. sandalwood & cedar wood, are base notes & bring more grounding.

1. Ease Sore Muscles
Add 4-5 drops of marjoram essential oil to 10ml carrier oil (e.g. sweet almond or grape seed) & gently massage onto sore areas, or add up 10 drops to a bath. To soothe headaches massage onto temples.
2. Healthy Respiratory System
If suffering from a respiratory problem e.g. cold, flu, cough, congestion, bronchitis, asthma, allergies, inhaling marjoram essential oil can help. Marjoram has expectorant properties, which helps expel excess phlegm & mucus from the respiratory tract. 
Add marjoram essential oil to a diffuser or add 4-5 drops to a bowl of steaming water. Cover head with towel & inhale for about 5 min. Alternatively, add 4-5 drops to a carrier oil & massage onto chest & neck.
3. Better Sleep
The sedative properties of marjoram can help promote a good night's sleep. To calm the mind & promote sleep add 2-3 drops of marjoram essential oil to a diffuser 15-20 min before bedtime. Or mix 4-5 drops of marjoram essential oil in a spray bottle with water & lightly spray pillowcase & sheets.

1. Arthritis Relief
Orange essential oil has natural anti-inflammatory properties.
Add 10 drops of orange essential oil to tbsp of base/carrier oil (e.g. sweet almond or coconut). Gently rub on affected joints
2. Assist Digestion
Orange essential oil can help with a variety of digestive issues e.g. constipation & flatulence by reducing painful gas build up in the intestines and encouraging your body to create more digestive enzymes. Add 3-4 drops to base/carrier oil and massage over your abdominal area.
3. Disinfectant
Orange essential oil is non-toxic & antiseptic. It works well as an alternative cleaning solution for counter tops & tables where you don’t want to use harsh chemicals that could be ingested. 
To create your own essential oil cleaning spray: add 10 drops of orange oil per cup of water. Add to a spray bottle. Shake before use.
4. Lighten The Mood 
Orange essential oil is a natural anti-depressant. 
Add 5-6 drops of oil to diffuser to assist to alter mood states, enhance motivation, relaxation & clarity.
5. Assist Lymphatic Movement
Orange essential oil can help in stimulating lymphatic action to promote detoxification of the body.
Add 12 drops of orange essential oil to 25ml of base/carrier oil & massage into body. 
6. Skin Nourishment
Orange essential oil nourishes dry, irritated & acne-prone skin.
Mix 10 drops with 25ml base/carrier oil and massage gently on skin

Sandalwood has a smooth, sweet, earthy woody aroma. Here are some of it's benefits:
1. Grounding
Add 2-5 drops to your bath or 2-3 drops to a diffuser or oil burner. 
2. Meditation
Sandalwood is known to calm the mind & body & support a meditative state. It can be helpful for ones who have anxiety, nervousness or depression. Add 2-3 drops to a diffuser or oil burner.
3. Anti-viral and Antiseptic
Sandalwood is an excellent anti-viral agent. It has been found to be beneficial to prevent replication of common viruses. It can also reduce inflammation from mild skin irritation such as superficial wounds, pimples, warts or boils. Always be safe & make sure to test the oil on a small area before applying it directly to the skin or mix it with a base carrier oil (e.g. coconut or sweet almond). If you have a sore throat, you can also gargle (but not swallow) a cup of water with 2-3 drops of sandalwood oil added to it.

This spicy, sweet oil is a natural analgesic, antiseptic & stimulant.
​Clove oil can be distilled from the bud or leaf.
Wellness tips include:
  1. First aid for toothache! Add 1-2 drops of clove essential oil to cotton bud, apply to aching tooth & benefit from clove's slight anaesthetic affect
  2. Mental & emotional tonic - add clove essential oil to room vaporisers & enjoy clove's restorative & stimulating qualities
  3. Relaxation: Add 2-3 drops to a warm, evening bath & relax in clove's calming aromas
  4. Ease muscular tension: Add 1-2 drops to massage oil to relieve stiff, aching muscles & rheumatic joint pain
  5. Clove is a powerful oil, so it's wise not to use undiluted on the skin.

  1. Insect bites: Combine peppermint & lavender essential oil to quickly ease the itch! Do dilute with a carrier oil if you are sensitive to neat essential oil on your skin.
  2. Headache: Add 1 drop of peppermint oil to small amount of carrier oil (e.g. sweet almond). Rub on temples, forehead, over sinuses (avoid contact with eyes) & on back of neck to help soothe headache & pressure.
  3. Tired aching feet: Add 2-3 drops of peppermint essential oil to foot bath for relief of sore, swollen & overworked feet
  4. Ants in home: Leave peppermint soaked cotton ball in their pathway. Ants avoid mint. Plus you'll have fresh, minty aroma in your home!
  5. Refresh your rubbish bin: Add 2-3 drops to bin bottom for pleasant minty aroma.
  6. Relaxation: To relieve stress, add 2-3 drops of peppermint essential oil to warm bath. Add drops of lavender, rosemary or geranium for increased sense of calm 
  7. Sore Muscles:  Peppermint oil has analgesic, anti-inflammatory & anti-spasmodic properties. It can ease pain & inflammation as well as calm spasms that cause muscle cramps. Add 2-3 drop of peppermint oil to small amount of carrier oil (e.g. sweet almond) & massage into affected area.
